Camp reflection

Fox Glacier camp 2016 reflection

Camp d1 On Wednesday last week we left school and started a long camp. In the car Dylan kept on changing the song till he found the one he was looking for. After Hokitika we went to a small town called Hari Hari and had a little stop there, after that we swam in Lake Mapourika for about an hour then we left for Franz Josef. When we got to Franz we went straight to the Kiwi center and saw 2 Kiwi who kept on fighting over territory one thing I learnt was that they feed them beef!! When we got to Fox Glacier it was 4 pm and time to get unpacked that night we had mashed potatoes and cauliflower with cheese sauce.

Camp d2 The next day we had a very nice breakfast and then we went to the glacier it took a very long time to get there (1 hour.) The glacier was huge but it was moving at a snail's pace. Surprisingly it wasn’t cold up near the glacier but it was freezing on the track. On the way back I saw 3 fantails following us up the track. When we got back my feet hurt like hell I’d already eaten all of my lunch. When we got back from the glacier I was tired, starved, and sore.

Camp d3 On the last day we got out of bed really early and started stuffing our bags with all of our stuff, when we were done it was time for breakfast. After breakfast we went to Hari hari for lunch. After that we started the long drive to school (only half an hour). When we got back from camp it was already home time. But I couldn’t get very far away from the car because my bag was to heavy. When I finally got up my nana was there already to take me home. It was the best camp ever The End.
